I Did It Anyway

This morning began, as many do, with a walk and a sunrise, but today held a different kind of light. As I moved through the familiar rhythm, camera in hand, I felt that creative pull stir inside me again. Photography has always been my sanctuary, an intuitive extension of how I see the world. Quiet beauty, golden edges, fleeting light. I paused often, capturing the ambience, letting each frame reflect my stillness and awe.

Then came a moment that shifted everything.

A young girl approached me, asking if I would take her photo against the sunrise backdrop. I smiled and obliged, it’s something I often do, offering a snapshot of someone else's joy. But when she saw the results, her reaction was pure amazement. And in that small exchange, something landed firmly in my spirit.

"What are you waiting for?"

That voice, steady, clear, and long overdue, echoed within me.

For years, I’ve been quietly curating photographs. Editing, organizing, storing them away as if they were waiting for the perfect moment to be shared. A couple of weeks ago, I began building a site, an online space to house this growing body of work. I tinkered, refined, adjusted. And yet... I hesitated. Waiting for the perfect caption, the perfect layout, the perfect feeling.

But progress often asks us to choose movement over perfection.

So today, I did something bold. I hit publish. On 25/07/2025, I launched my website, a quiet corner of the internet where my photography can live, breathe, and connect.

Was it nerve-wracking? Absolutely. My heart raced the moment I clicked the button. But underneath that flutter was a deep, rooted sense of fulfilment. I had done the prep. I had done the work. And now, I had done the thing.

This is what growth looks like sometimes, tiny, courageous decisions stacked on top of each other until they form something extraordinary. And it’s not just about the launch. It’s about the shift. A better version of myself is taking shape, not polished or finished, but fully becoming. Purposeful, expressive, and ready to rise.
