The morning unfolded in quiet stillness. A gentle hush hung over the promenade as I slipped into my usual rhythm, the walk that has become my anchor, my reset, my steady companion through this season of change. There’s a kind of clarity found in early movement, when the world hasn’t yet rushed in, and it’s just me, breathing into presence.
This morning’s air was crisp, cool against my skin, fresh in my lungs. I breathed in deeply as the waves crashed rhythmically against the rocks. There was a profound beauty in the way they moved, like dancers lost in their own choreography, unapologetically wild yet graceful. Each wave carried its own pulse, its own story, and I stood there quietly bearing witness to nature’s effortless flow.
On one side, soft clouds rolled across the sky, casting a muted glow. On the other, the sun rose with purpose, radiant and warm as it reached out over the Umhlanga pier. And then, adding nature’s exclamation point, a pod of dolphins appeared, leaping playfully, riding the waves, reminding me that even amid uncertainty, there is joy to be found.
Back home, I planned the rest of my day. My focus was gaining traction on my course, moving forward, one module at a time. Later, I caught up with a friend over protein pancakes (which were nothing short of amazing). That blend of learning, connection, and simple pleasure added texture to a day that felt full and nourishing.
By evening, I was ready to rest. Truthfully? I didn’t even make it to bed. I fell asleep on the couch, tired and content, only later stirring to turn off the lights and tuck in properly. A delayed entry, but still, one held in gratitude.
Because when a day begins with crisp air and dancing waves, and ends with a full heart and restful sleep, it’s more than enough.
